06:12 22 Feb 2010 Dirty Pop Tour 2010

Emilie will be showcasing music from her forthcoming album during her first UK tour currently being arranged by an English record label with which she had a short-term development deal last year. The 'Dirty Pop 2010' show to be taken on the road in the next few months will be feisty and energetic, showcasing songs written by Emilie which could easily fit into the charts both here and in the US. The album which is currently nearing the end of production, will be released later this year, and it sees a progression to more pop-based music using heavy synths and pulsating beats, whilst keeping the strong, sexy vocals and direct lyrics which have become her trademark. This is a very exciting time for Emilie: this project is one that has the potential to lead her right into the top of the UK pop music scene. There are also negotiations in process to take the tour to the US during the later summer months. The Emilie team also want to concentrate on ‘bringing pop back to Wales’ as pop solo artists are largely under-represented in South Wales. So, it was decided to recruit dancers for the show locally rather than using the dancers affiliated to the label. This tour will be fun, hard-work and invaluable experience for any budding dancer. Emilie is looking for dancers who want to go on the journey with her, not just for this tour but for all future performances. This requires real passion, dedication and focus. Lady GaGa herself has just used a similar method to put together a band and backing singers in the US for her European tour. If it’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for us! 14:46 11 Feb 2010 What Emilie Did Next...

Well, 2009 wasn’t all I had hoped for, like so many of us!!! After falling foul to empty promises, broken promises and putting my trust in people who can’t be trusted, I have emerged stronger and more determined. I realise now that there is only one person who can guarantee my onward success whilst being true to who I am as both an artist and a person. Me!!! I experimented a little, pushed my own boundaries a little, and listened to the opinions of others who told me they know about the music industry and what it expects of you. Now I have stopped listening. If people don’t like what I do, or don’t believe in me then they don’t have to listen to my music or work with me. It isn’t about change but about growth. Although I have worked with some people that I wouldn’t wish to work with in the future, I have learned who I am and know where I am going, so it’s all part of the journey. Anyone reading this who is aspiring to a solo artist career may want to heed my warning though. As they say, all that glitters is not gold. In this industry particularly, there are people who want to sell you something that does not exist. Beware. Some companies are not what they say they are and cannot offer you that which they imply they can. So basically have faith in yourself and keep it real. I love what I do and will continue on striving to get my music heard by more people.

I have also, of course, worked with some talented, reliable people, some of whom have become trusted friends, and hopefully will continue to do so for a very long time. If you are reading this, you know who you are =)

So what does 2010 hold for me? Well, I guess I won’t know that until 2011! I am very excited to have new music professionally recorded which I will be promoting very soon. This is going to form part of my new album – something which is not yet finished but I am working hard towards finishing very soon. I absolutely love the new songs and have had great fun writing and singing them. I am working on getting them up for sale on my website – so many of you ask how you can buy my music and it has been difficult to answer until now. I have not been in full control of my website and haven’t been able to get this facility up and running but it will be functioning very soon. I am so sorry to all the people who have asked, I really appreciate that you like it enough to buy it, it makes me feel all warm inside =)

I am hoping to complete a UK tour which has been postponed until the spring (thankfully as we shouldn’t have snow then!). I am not arranging it myself so cannot give you any details until it is booked. You will however be the first to know, I can assure you. I am hoping some of you will come down and say hello. Who knows? There might be something in it for you… Rehearsals for that resume again shortly so I will be busy! Doing what I love, lucky me J I am considering visiting the US later in the year for some performances too which would be awesome. The American people are very supportive and welcoming and that is a fantastic experience.

So, here’s to 2010, we’ve got a lot of work to do! Better get on with it... =D

Hey Guys!

Hope you have all had a great start to the year! I know I have!

I hope you like my new featured video. I thought I would write a short blog for you guys to understand why I chose to cover this song.

The song is called 'Crawling in the Dark' by Hoobastank. If you don't know it then you should!! It is such a well written song and I felt that it fits how I'm feeling right now. I think they captured the part of the music industry that frustrates you - the waiting - very well. I HATE waiting lol!

I also think that a lot of you will be able to relate to it within your own lives as we are all waiting for something I guess...

Also I know a lot of you guys wanted me to do something a little heavier and I thought it would be fun to try one of my fave rock songs!

I will have my own new material coming soon so watch this space!

Hey Guys!

How are you all doing??

I have uploaded a video for you guys!!

I performed in the States last year and LOVED it! Especially as the vast majority of my fans are American therefore I got to reach a lot more people!!

I was sick unfortunately so I am afraid it is a bit croaky! BUT I had so much fun and it was an awesome show!

I got to work with some amazing musicians during my time there and I loved our acoustic set of guitar, vox and sax! It was a great combination =)

How are you all doing? =)

I have had a great start to 2009! I am very excited about the year to come and am hoping to achieve a lot!

SOOOOO I had a photoshoot in a 5* hotel I stayed at in Bristol! I had the best weekend ever!! I went shopping lots , had a few spa treatments, some calorie filled delicious food and wine and most importantly had so much fun at the shoot =)

I hope you like the pictures! I have picked my favourites out for you guys to have a look at! It is surprisingly hard to do photos in a lift! My photographer was in stitches everytime the lift doors would close and I disappeared to a different floor!!

Also I have posted one of my first web adverts here on the site! I would love to know what you guys think! I had so much fun making it and again was very hands on in all aspects of making it! I hope it inspires you to find out a bit more about me, or tell a friend about the site!

Hey Guys!

Welcome to www.emilierees.co.uk!

I am very excited to finally present my website to you. I'm nervous, yet very eager to hear your comments!

As with everything I do, I have been very hands on in creating this project with my web developer. Designing this site came naturally to me. I couldn't imagine anyone better to present Emilie to you than me! I personally LOVE the finished product and I hope you do to - after all it is for you!

If you would like to suggest any features you would like to see in the future, then please do! I love hearing your thoughts and new ideas.

There is however still a lot to come! We have lots of features in development which I can't wait to launch!

As some of you will remember I unfortunately lost my myspace page a couple of times before, not really sure why, but it was devastating. I work hard to keep in touch with my myspace fans and have talented and dedicated people working with me to reach you. This project has therefore been close to my heart as it is a solid place for me on the web. I am so happy that no one can take this away from me and I can keep in touch with you all! =)

Hey Guys!

I hope you have had a lovely Christmas!

I have recently moved to a new apartment which looks out over the (beautiful) Welsh coastline. It is so peaceful compared with my last apartment looking out over chimney tops! Christmas here has been wonderful and I have enjoyed a little break spending time with my family and eating way to much Christmas chocolates!

I had an awesome vegetarian Christmas dinner! I think everyone should try it once! You would be surprised to know veggie food is yummie! (although I managed to burn the Yorkshire puddings) I have been so stuffed though I haven't even got to Christmas pudding!

Hey Guys!

Well I just had to tell you all that I am writing the best song at the moment and I know you are gunna love it!

It will make you feel super sexy and is the perfect song to hook up with the hottie on the dance floor!

It reminds me a little bit of Christina Aguilera's 'Keeps Gettin' Better' as it is kinda electro/pop!

I have been having lots of fun writing my new material! I love my first record Jinxxed, but I feel as I grow in this industry I am getting better and better as a strong alternative artist. I know you will LOVE my new album, although you might not see it out for a while! Unfortunately these things take time! BUT until then you can enjoy listening to my unreleased material and also Jinxxed here on my site on my very cool music player!
